Device Tests: common questions
Are my camera and microphone recorded?
No. The sound and picture are analysed inside your browser and are never uploaded or stored. A recording you choose to make stays in the tab until you close it or download it.
Why does the browser ask for permission?
Browsers never give a website access to a camera or microphone without asking. Choose Allow to run the test; you can take the permission away again at any time from the icon in the address bar.
Can I test my internet connection too?
Yes — the Internet Speed Test measures download, upload, ping and jitter, the other things a video call depends on.
