Age Calculator

Find your exact age from your date of birth — years, months and days, total days and hours, your next birthday and the day you were born — or check if you’re within an exam’s age limit.

Runs in your browser Free · no sign-up

At a glance

  • Gives your exact age in years, months and days, plus your age in total months, weeks, days, hours, minutes and seconds — live, to the second, with an optional time of birth.
  • Shows your next birthday: the date, weekday, the age you’ll turn and a countdown, and the day of the week you were born.
  • Calculates age on any date — past or future — not just today.
  • Exam age limit mode checks your age as on a cut-off date (like “1 August”) against a minimum and maximum age, with OBC, SC/ST and PwBD relaxation, and shows the allowed range of birth dates.
  • Upper limits can follow the UPSC/SSC wording (“must not have attained 32”) or count completed years; both are shown exactly, day by day.
  • Age difference mode compares two dates of birth in years, months and days.
  • Month lengths and leap years are handled exactly; someone born on 29 February has their birthday on 28 February in other years. Runs in your browser — your date of birth isn’t sent anywhere.

Features

Everything you need, nothing you don’t

Exact to the day

Counts calendar months the way birthdays work, so 31 January to 28 February is one month — no 30-day approximations.

Exam-ready

Enter the “age as on” date and limits from a UPSC, SSC, banking or state exam notification and see at once whether you qualify.

Birthday countdown

See how many months and days until your next birthday, the weekday it falls on and the age you’ll turn.

Fun milestones

Find out when you’ll be 10,000 days old, 1,000 weeks or a billion seconds — and how many seconds old you are right now.

Any date

Work out an age on a past or future date: at admission, retirement, a policy date or a wedding.

Private

Calculated on your device. Your date of birth is never uploaded or stored.

How exam age limits are worked out

Notifications give an age range and a date, such as “21 to 32 years as on 1 August 2026”. You must have reached the minimum age on that date. For the upper limit, UPSC and SSC say you must not have attained the maximum age — so with a limit of 32 you must still be 31 on the cut-off date.

That is why such notices list birth dates instead: for 21–32 as on 1 August 2026, a candidate must be born not earlier than 2 August 1994 and not later than 1 August 2005. The calculator shows this range for any limits you enter, including relaxation.

CategoryUsual upper age relaxation (central government)
OBC (non-creamy layer)3 years
SC / ST5 years
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)10 years (13 for OBC, 15 for SC/ST)
Ex-servicemen, J&K domicile and othersVaries — see the notification

Good to know

Age in months and days depends on month lengths, so two people with the same number of days alive can have slightly different “years, months and days”. This calculator counts whole calendar months first, then the remaining days — the same way you count birthdays.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my exact age?

Enter your date of birth. The calculator counts the completed years and months since then, and the days left over — for example 26 years, 8 months and 20 days — and shows the same age in total days, weeks and hours.

How do I calculate my age on a specific date?

Change the Age on date to the date you need, such as an exam cut-off or admission date. The age is worked out for the start of that day.

Am I eligible for an exam with an age limit “as on 1 August”?

Open Exam age limit, enter your date of birth, 1 August of the exam year, and the minimum and maximum ages from the notification. Add your category’s relaxation. The calculator says whether you’re within the limit and shows the allowed birth dates. The notification is always final.

What does “must not have attained 32 years” mean?

You must not have had your 32nd birthday on or before the cut-off date. If you turn 32 on the cut-off date itself, you are not eligible; if you turn 32 the day after, you are.

How is the age of someone born on 29 February calculated?

In years without 29 February, this calculator counts the birthday on 28 February, so the person turns a year older then. Some countries use 1 March for legal purposes.

Is my date of birth saved?

No. Everything is calculated in your browser and nothing is sent or stored.
