Tips for an accepted photo
Stand about a metre in front of a plain white or very light wall, facing a window or soft light so there are no shadows on your face or behind you. Look straight at the camera with a neutral expression and your mouth closed, eyes open and clearly visible. Avoid glasses and caps; religious headwear is usually allowed if the whole face is visible.
Ask someone else to take the photo from about 1.5 metres away at eye level — selfies distort the face. Use a recent photo (taken within the last six months), and always check the latest rules of the office you are applying to.
