Privacy Policy
The short version: JustTools tools run in your browser, so the files and text you work with never reach us. This page explains the details, including what our advertising and analytics partners may collect.

1. Files and text you use in our tools
Our tools process your files and text locally, inside your web browser. Images you compress, text you count and anything else you work with are not uploaded to JustTools or to anyone else, and we have no way to see them. When you close the page, they are gone unless you saved a result to your device.
If a tool needs to contact an outside service to work, its page says so clearly, including what is sent and to whom. The tools below do. They send only what is described here — never your files or anything else — and we don’t store the domains or addresses you check:
- the SSL Checker sends the domain name to SSLMate Cert Spotter (certificate transparency logs) and Google Public DNS, and your browser requests that website’s home page;
- the DNS Lookup sends the domain name, with the record type, to the public DNS server you choose;
- the DNS Propagation Checker sends the domain name, with the record type, to these public DNS services: Google Public DNS, Cloudflare 1.1.1.1, DNS.SB, Control D, CleanBrowsing, IIJ Public DNS, dnsforge.de. Google Public DNS is also asked to answer as it would for users of several internet providers, identified by a network prefix belonging to each provider — never by your own IP address;
- the Website SEO Checker asks your browser to load the page address you enter, and that site’s robots.txt and llms.txt, directly from the website. When the website doesn’t allow that, the address is sent to Jina Reader (r.jina.ai), which fetches them for you. The report can show the site’s icon and preview image, which your browser loads from that website. HTML you paste instead is analysed on your device and never sent;
- the Sitemap Generator fetches the pages of the website you enter, and its robots.txt, in the same way — from your browser where the site allows it, otherwise through Jina Reader, which receives each page address. Pasted URL lists are processed on your device;
- the Robots.txt Generator builds and tests files on your device; only if you load a website’s robots.txt is that file fetched, in the same way;
- the Internet Speed Test downloads and uploads test data to Cloudflare’s speed test service (speed.cloudflare.com). Like any server, it sees your IP address; the page shows you which Cloudflare data centre answered and the country Cloudflare places you in. The upload data is random bytes, and JustTools never receives your results;
- the URL Shortener sends the address you shorten — with any custom ending, password, click limit or expiry you set — to the service you choose, spoo.me or da.gd, which stores it so the short link works. Click statistics for spoo.me links are fetched from spoo.me, and Check a link sends the link you check to da.gd, which follows its redirects for you. The list of links you make is kept only in your browser.
DNS queries travel encrypted over DNS-over-HTTPS, directly from your browser to these services.
The Password Strength Checker works entirely on your device. Only if you click Check now does it contact Have I Been Pwned, sending the first five characters of the password’s SHA-1 hash — never the password or its full hash. The comparison happens in your browser.
2. Information stored on your device
Some features remember preferences in your browser’s local storage. This data stays on your device and is never sent to us:
- your light or dark theme choice;
- a short list of tools you used recently, shown in search;
- drafts in tools that offer autosave (such as the Word Counter), which you can switch off at any time;
- your last 20 internet speed test results, which you can clear on the speed test page;
- the short links you make with the URL Shortener, which you can remove or clear on that page;
- the resume you write in the Resume Builder, so you can continue later (Start blank clears it), and the details and photo in your Marriage Biodata (Start over clears them);
- your Tic Tac Toe settings and scores, which you can reset in the game, your bingo cards and the game in progress, your coin flip settings and statistics, your Sudoku game, settings and best times, and your 2048 and Minesweeper games, settings and best scores and times;
- your typing test settings, recent results and personal bests, the SVG Optimizer options you choose, your Screen Ruler calibration, your last pattern and text in the Regex Tester, the encoding and output format in the Hex to ASCII and Binary to Text converters, and the algorithm and webhook provider you last used in the HMAC Generator (never keys or secrets);
- your business details, saved customers and last invoice in the GST Invoice Generator, and the company, employee and payslip details in the Salary Slip Generator, so you can continue later;
- the emoji you used recently and your skin tone in the Emoji & Kaomoji Picker, and your last units in the Unit Converter;
- whether you closed the small ad bar on mobile, for the current visit only.
You can clear all of it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.
3. Advertising
JustTools is free because it shows ads. Ads are provided by third-party networks, including Adsterra. To choose and measure ads, these partners and the advertisers they work with may use cookies or similar technologies and may receive information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, approximate location and the page you are viewing. Their use of this information is governed by their own privacy policies.
Every ad on JustTools loads in its own separate frame that is not allowed to redirect your page or open pop-up dialogs. We never send the files or text you use in our tools to advertisers.
4. Server logs
Like every website, our hosting and content-delivery providers automatically process technical request data — IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time — to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We do not use this data to identify you, and we do not combine it with other information.
5. Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used in aggregate — for example, which tools are popular, how visitors find us and which devices they use — so we can decide what to improve and build next.
Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (such as _ga) and receives information such as the pages you visit, the site that referred you, your browser and device type, and your approximate location. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. It never receives the files or text you use in our tools. Google processes this data under the Google Privacy Policy.
You can opt out at any time with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies for this site in your browser settings.
6. Children
JustTools is a general-audience website and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Your rights
Because we do not hold accounts or store the content you process, we generally hold no personal data about you. Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EU/UK, India’s DPDP Act or California’s CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to its use for advertising. For data collected by an advertising partner, please use that partner’s privacy controls; for anything else, contact us and we will help.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site grows. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
