Is an image of my signature legally valid?
A signature image is an electronic signature: many everyday documents — letters, quotes, internal approvals, delivery notes — accept it. Contracts and filings that require a digital signature certificate (DSC) or Aadhaar eSign in India, or a qualified signature elsewhere, need a certified signing service instead. When in doubt, ask the organisation that will receive the document.
Tips for a good signature image
Sign at your natural speed — the pen effect depends on it. On a phone, turn the screen sideways for a wider pad. For photo uploads, sign with a dark pen on plain white paper, photograph it straight on in daylight, and raise the sensitivity if grey shadows remain. Many government forms ask for a signature of a given size, such as 140 × 60 pixels and under 20 KB; use the Image Resizer and Image Compressor to match.
