Crop PDF

Trim white margins, cut a page down to the part you need or tidy up scans — drag the crop box or let auto-detect find the content. Runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Runs in your browser Free · no sign-up

At a glance

  • Drag the crop box on the page preview, or type exact margins in millimetres for the top, bottom, left and right.
  • Auto-detect margins finds the empty white border around the content, checking up to 24 of the pages you are cropping, spread through the document.
  • Crop all pages, this page, or a list such as “1, 3-5, even”.
  • Cropping is lossless: text stays selectable and images keep their quality, because the pages aren’t redrawn.
  • Cropping hides the area outside the box — that content is still in the file. Use Redact PDF to remove information for good.
  • Rotated and landscape pages are cropped as you see them. Bookmarks, links and form fields are kept.
  • Runs entirely in your browser with pdf-lib and PDF.js — the file is never uploaded.

Features

Everything you need, nothing you don’t

Trim white margins

Make slides, papers and e-books easier to read on a phone or tablet by cutting away wide empty borders.

Auto-detect

One click finds where the content starts and ends on your pages, with a little padding so nothing is clipped.

Exact sizes

Drag the box for a quick crop, or type margins in millimetres when you need a precise result.

Any pages

Crop the whole document, only the page you’re looking at, or chosen pages like “2-4” or “odd”.

No quality loss

Pages aren’t turned into images, so text stays sharp and searchable and the file size barely changes.

Private

Your PDF stays on your device. No upload, no sign-up and no watermark.

Is cropped content really gone?

No. Like Adobe Acrobat and most PDF editors, cropping sets the visible area of each page; the content outside it is hidden but still in the file, and can be shown again in a PDF editor. That makes cropping reversible, but not safe for hiding sensitive information.

To remove an account number, address or signature permanently, use Redact PDF instead.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I crop a PDF for free?

Open the PDF here, drag the crop box or click Auto-detect margins, choose the pages and click Crop. It’s free and nothing is uploaded.

Can I crop just one page?

Yes. Go to the page and choose This page, or choose Choose and type the page numbers you want, such as “4” or “2-6”.

Does cropping reduce quality?

No. The pages aren’t redrawn or turned into images, so text and pictures look exactly as before.

Does cropping make the file smaller?

Not noticeably — the hidden content is still in the file. To make it smaller, use Compress PDF.

Can I undo a crop?

In a PDF editor, yes, because the content is only hidden. Keep your original file as well, just in case.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Cropping happens in your browser and the file never leaves your device.
