Cut one picture into a giant profile grid or a swipeable panorama — sized for Instagram and numbered in the order to post them.

Runs in your browser Free · no sign-up

At a glance

  • Splits one photo into a profile grid — 3 × 1, 3 × 2, 3 × 3 or any layout up to 6 × 10 — or a panorama carousel of up to 10 slides that swipe seamlessly.
  • Tiles come in Instagram sizes: 3:4 (1080 × 1440), the shape of today’s profile grid, 4:5 (1080 × 1350) for portrait posts, or 1:1.
  • Every grid tile is numbered in posting order — Instagram shows the newest post first, so the bottom-right tile goes up first and the top-left one last.
  • Drag and zoom to choose exactly what lands in each tile, and add a gap so faces and text don’t fall on the white lines between tiles.
  • Download everything as one ZIP, or any single tile — JPG or PNG.
  • Your photo never leaves your device.

Step by step

How to split a photo for an Instagram grid

  1. 1

    Choose a photo

    Open a high-resolution photo — the bigger the better for a 3 × 3 grid.

  2. 2

    Pick a layout

Choose Profile grid and a size such as 3 × 3, or Panorama carousel and the number of slides.

  3. 3

    Frame it

Drag and zoom the photo, and add a small gap if a face sits on a dividing line.

  4. 4

    Download and post

Download the ZIP and post the tiles in the numbered order, Post 1 first.

Making the grid line up

The profile grid has three columns, so a giant grid only lines up if the number of posts already on your profile doesn’t shift it: post the tiles one after another, with nothing in between, and use a number of tiles that is a multiple of three. Instagram has shown profile thumbnails as 3:4 rectangles since early 2025, so square tiles appear slightly cropped at the sides — choose 3:4 for a perfect fit.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I split a picture into 9 for Instagram?

Choose the 3 × 3 grid preset, drag the photo into place and download the ZIP. Post the nine tiles in order from Post 1 to Post 9 — Post 9 (the top-left tile) goes up last.

Why is the posting order reversed?

Instagram shows your newest post at the top left. To end with the top-left tile there, it must be posted last — so the bottom-right tile is posted first.

How do I make a seamless carousel?

Choose Panorama carousel, set the number of slides and the 4:5 shape, then upload the slides in order as one carousel post. Each slide continues where the last one ends.

What does the gap setting do?

It leaves out a thin strip between tiles, matching the white lines Instagram draws on your profile, so the picture looks continuous across them.

Will my photo lose quality?

Each tile is cut at full resolution and saved at 1080 pixels wide, the size Instagram uses. If your photo is smaller than the tiles, the tool warns you that they will be slightly soft.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The photo is split by your browser on your device.
